Promote learning programming skills in primary education

The Dutch primary education has only little attention for computer and programming skills. Meanwhile I see a trend where the ability of using computers and automated environments become more and more important. It also stands out to me that many teachers have trouble  properly utilising computers themselves.

Using the trade name RoBollie I try to draw attention to the importance of these skills within primary education. For this I use the funny robots Rollie, Bollie and Billie, based on products Dash and Dot.

As these are easy to program for children, I show that computers an programming can be fun and doesn’t have to be hard at all.

Within Dutch primary education, decision paths are long. Especially when it's about investments that are off the beaten track. Also the financial margin on the products is very low, which requires a high amount of customers to generate enough income.
Additionally, market research showed that there were other organisations in the area that had the same idea and were far ahead of me. This combination made it financially unfeasible to proceed with this idea in a healthy way.

Although this is not the result an entrepreneur wishes to see, it has been an interesting learning journey in which I pushed boundaries and learnt to stop at the right moment.
